Catching Copernicus
In June 2024 Copernicus the cat was staying in an RV with his humans in Colter Bay Campground when he escaped. Copernicus, a former stray from China, survived in the Northern portion of Grand Teton National Park for more than 60 days before he was finally captured in a fox trap by a Grand Teton employee Tyler Brasington. His presence in the park was noticed by multiple employees living in the area and many attempts were made to capture him. Once captured Dr. Stephanie Ninnemann at VCA Spring Creek Animal Hospital donated her time to help Copernicus. He is now back at home in Oregon with his humans and brother Galileo.
